The procedure for proton therapy

This section will describe the treatment procedure at the RPTC, ranging from diagnostics through the actual irradiation to the follow-up.

If you have already been referred as a patient for conventional x-ray radiotherapy, we can expand your therapy planning by carrying out a comparative dosage evaluation between the proposed x-ray procedure and the proton procedure. In order to do this, however, you need to send us your x-ray plan on a media (in Germany, the patient has the right to a copy). You will receive comparative images allowing you to make your own assessment of the number of sessions, radiation of healthy tissue and organs, and the tumour dosage itself. Alternatively, you can give these images to the attending physician to make an assessment.
