World leader in Medicine Promotes Proton Therapy

With the Mayo Clinic building two large proton therapy centers in the US, another world leader in cancer care and research has recognized the benefits of this innovative and highly effective therapy, despite the costs associated with it. John Noseworthy, CEO and president of the Mayo Clinic, explains the decision for proton therapy with its medical effectiveness and the benefits to the patients. The decision was made, after six years of evaluating numerous papers, studies and results from thousands of cases treated with proton therapy, showed that proton therapy increases the effectiveness of cancer treatment while sparing surrounding tissue and key organs.
